This really was a game of two halves, with Pickering dominating the first half and the second half being more or less equal status.

Team was :- 1) A Mitchell. 2) T.Reid. 3) P Hodgson. 4) S Sturdy. 5) D Hartas. 6) T Fenwick. 7) J Ramm. Cool G Dalton. 9) S Baxter. 10) J Brown. 11) T Adams (cap)
12) L Salt. 14) D Clough. 15) J Birbeck. 16) J Wilstrop 17) M Turnbull.

Right from the kick-off the Pikes went into attack mode with Tom Fenwick tearing down the left and cutting in behind the Barton defence and was brought down in the Penalty area the ref had no choice but give a penalty, Tommy Adams as calm as you like swiftly put the ball in the net, only 3 minutes gone and we're 1-0 up. cheers
Barton had no reply to out-do both our wingers-strikers Fenner on left and Ged on the right both causing mayhem to the defence, but that was on par to the rest of the team who also worked they're arses off, there wasn't a single player who shirked off the job in hand and Fenner got another chance after turning the Barton defence inside out he struck the post. As the game went on Barton got a few chances and managed to pull level with a scrappy goal, however the Pikes weren't finished yet and once again Fenner broke through the Barton defence and crossed a ball perfectly to Joel Ramm who scored on 42 minutes, this is how the score remained at half time. The crowd of 144 were well entertained. Razz Razz Razz Razz
I'd just like to mention the Pikes-Pantry who lately have increased they're range to include Chips, Bacon Butties, soup and curry, (I can recomend the bacon butties).
Back to the game, I think we were spoiled in the first half as the rhythm of the game slowed down considerably with both teams making silly mistakes, having said that our keeper Mitch kept us the winners with a fantastic save in the dying minutes of the game. Basketball Basketball Basketball
Well done to Jimmy, Stevie, Deanno and ALL the players a terrific result.

That's all from TheCodpiece-PorkyPike!! pirat pig pirat pig pirat pig

Just a quick update from the management team. We were pleased with the result against Barton which keeps our momentum going in the league although whilst the first half was a reasonable performance from the players the quicker we forget the second half the better although a great save towards the end of the game from Adam deserves a mention as does the debut of Mattie Turnbull who made a promising start to his senior career at the club. The players trained well on Tuesday with Deano,Simon and myself taking the session the highlight being Lyle Hillier edging closer to fitness and looking sharp whilst Jimmy went to watch the 19's at Harrogate. After all the build up I had given him he obviously caught them on a bad night as on the whole they did not perform to their potential and went down 3-1. Jimmy was pleased with Ed Cass whom was the shining light on the night but on the whole he expected more. We are all going over to Pontefract on Wednesday and hopefully they will be back to their best. Tomorrow see's tough opposition at Parkgate and we shall need to be at our best to get a result at one of the better teams in the league. Cloughie and Jonny Burbeck are out injured whilst Steve Baxter is at a wedding although on the plus side Mike Mcnaughton is back as is Joe Conner after suspension. The website has gone quiet so everyone must be happy! We are certainly not and whilst the players short term effort in turning the season around must be commended the work is only just starting to ensure we are at the right end of the table next year and our supporters have a team to be proud of again.

All the best Steve
