good week!

Just a few words about the last week at the club which from a results point of view has been a good one for everybody at the club. Firstly the 19's have had two excellent results notably at Pontefract who are top of the league beating them 3-1 and then last night against Brid which was comfortable for them winning 6-0. I have said in the past that we have a good group of players who at their best are good to watch and they are getting some nice momentum going to finish their season in a positive manner and with the possibility of some silverware. The first team responded well after the Parkgate non performance and on the whole will be happy with four points from our two home games. The key time against Tadcaster was either side of half time when we could have been two or three goals to the good but having just scored the one Tad came back strongly and deserved their point with both keepers doing well. Tuesday was a game where the scoreline flattered us as Armthorpe were always in the game until the last few minutes when they left the back door well and truely open and allowed us to increase our lead. A good defensive display was spoilt by allowing a late goal and our ability to retain and use the ball in the second half was below the standard we expect but on the whole another three points at home was very welcome. We face a longish journey on Saturday and as i have said previously improving our away form is a priority so a big three points is at stake as we look to maintain our steady improvement.
